Introducing the Multi-Loader 3.0FX

Monday, 14 February 2022 by australia-admin

The latest addition to Multi-Loader line up is the ML3.0 FX, and will be available in Australia from mid-2022.

There are now three models available in Australia and New Zealand from the AlmaCrawler Multi-Loader range – ML2.5 Performance, ML3.0 FX (NEW – coming mid-2022) and the ML6.0.

This model is a powerful and versatile flatbed tracked carrier which can be used in various heavy-duty applications both indoors and outdoors, with a maximum load capacity of three tonnes. It has class leading electric drive with two super quiet AC electric motors, 5.3 kW each [rated IP 67]. The ML 3.0FX can be fitted with both AGM or Lithium batteries, both options inside an easily extractable battery pack that will allow you to change it quickly on the job site and continue your work.

It has telescopic support beams on each corner to provide for added support for extra-large loads. These can be positioned into place manually and therefore extend the platform either longitudinally or laterally. The standard swivel platform sits on a freely rotating slewing ring with 16 different positions which you can also manually choose from and easily adapt the platform to your load.

Finally, the new ML 3.0 FX with its electric drive weighs less than 800kg, features longer tracks and adaptive rollers representing AlmaCrawler’s desire to cater to its materials handling customers and their wide range of needs.

AlmaCrawler Multi-Loader carriers maintain a constant horizontal surface, with the ML2.5 Performance and the ML6.0 capable of operating on rough or sloping terrain thanks to bi-levelling technology. The unique and innovative tracking system adopted by AlmaCrawler, allows the carrier to operate on all different types of terrain, ensuring maximum manoeuvrability and precision even in the narrowest of spaces, with minimum ground pressure. As AlmaCrawler continue their research and development into new technologies, many industries including hire, rental, arbor and construction, now benefit from an innovative, patented machine functionality, Bi-Levelling.

With extensive experience in the aerial work platform sector, the Italian-based AlmaCrawler team, have now evolved the capabilities of access equipment beyond traditional aerial platform designs. The highly-sought-after patented technology, Bi-Levelling, has rapidly affirmed the Almac brand across global markets.

What is the Patented Bi-Levelling System?

The bi-levelling system allows our machines to overcome longitudinal slopes of *up to 20°, and lateral slopes of up to 15°. This functionality significantly increases performance, safety, and comfort by auto-levelling the chassis or aerial structure, even in the most extreme conditions. Inclined terrain and other multi-level surfaces can now be overcome using bi-levelling functionality, allowing users a greater return on their investment.

This unique product capability, with simple user experience and superior market adaptability, caters to professional end-users including Arborists, and the rental and construction sectors.

Today the bi-levelling system is installed on all lifts produced by Almac. Coupled with our intelligent, integrated anti-collision detection technology, Almac machines are considered one of the safest and most reliable in the world.

TECHNICAL TALK

ATHENA Scissor Lifts

Automatic levelling is completed by three independent hydraulic cylinders that are mounted in the undercarriage.

The undercarriage has two independent bi-level legs to adjust the lateral inclination of the chassis, with a hydraulic cylinder at the rear of the undercarriage to adjust the longitudinal inclination. Utilising independent undercarriage bi-level legs, allows for unique positioning on worksites up to 20 degrees inclination. It also allows the operator, in certain circumstances, to level the machine on multi-level surfaces such as a raised concrete slab or steps.

The system will not permit lifting until the chassis is within the safety of a zero-degree level.

The safety network utilises twin channel inclinometers to measure the real time inclination of the chassis, and the working height of the platform. When working, if the system detects that the elevated machine changes inclination, the alarm will sound, and further movement is restricted until the inclination is corrected. For our EVO range, this inclination adjustment can be completed up to 6.5m working height (known as proactive levelling).

The rubber track drive system provides excellent tracking and manoeuvrability in all conditions. Non-marking tracks are fitted as standard to prevent the machine leaving marks on concrete surfaces.

JIBBI Boom Lifts

Automatic levelling of the JIBBI is completed using our unique design of a dynamic, aerial structure that is adjusted at the slew ring base, by means of two hydraulic cylinders.

Prior to lifting the aerial structure, the automatic levelling program will complete the adjustment of the aerial structure alone, bringing the inclination to zero-degrees.

Adjusting the aerial structure alone, allows the JIBBI to maintain a fixed footprint of the undercarriage for maintaining stability, while operating on inclines up to 15-degrees in any direction.

The comprehensive leveling system of the JIBBI utilises twin channel inclinometers on all individual moving components of the machine. This range extends from the undercarriage and base inclination through to all individual aerial components such as main boom, jib arm and platform level. The onboard machine ECU compiles the data in real time, ensuring the operator is always safe, stable and level whilst operating.

Whilst operating elevated drive, the system is monitoring for and inclination changes of the chassis and base sensors greater than one-degree. Where this occurs, the aerial structure can be re-adjusted at height, back to one-degree, utilising the proactive-levelling system, standard on all JIBBI models.

The rubber track-drive system provides excellent tracking and manoeuvrability in all conditions. Non-marking tracks are fitted as standard to prevent the machine leaving marks on concrete surfaces.

BILLENNIUM Spider Lifts

The Billennium is the first spider lif

t of its type, able to work at height with or without the stabilisers deployed. When operating on longitudinal slopes up to ten-degrees, or lateral slopes of up to five-degrees, the operator may choose to work without the stabilisers deployed. This ensures a narrower footprint and allows elevated driving; a first in the spider lift market.

When working on slopes greater than 10/5 degrees, and to obtain maximum working height and outreach, the stabilisers can be deployed automatically from the operators control station, without the requirement to leave the platform. Automatic levelling of the Billennium is completed utilising four hydraulic stabilisers. In the case of the Quick-PRO model, the operator can select the desired footprint for the stabilisers to deploy to, being narrow, wide, or partial selections. This is completed from the operator’s console, without the need to leave the platform to manually set stabilisers to narrow/wide footprint settings.

Automatic levelling is controlled by the main onboard computer. This system actively monitors ground pressure of the stabilisers by means of pressure transducers, installed in each stabiliser cylinder. Once the correct ground pressure has been set, the onboard computer will modulate the required stabiliser cylinders to obtain zero-degrees of the chassis prior to lifting of the aerial structure. The chassis level is monitored by use of a twin channel inclinometer.

This can all be controlled by use of a single automatic levelling switch.

Billennium Series – Tracked Spider Lift

Thursday, 21 October 2021 by australia-admin

Self-propelled, tracked spider lifts: the BT LINE range of aerial-work platforms changes the concept of working at height by combining the characteristics of self-propelled and wheeled-aerial platforms, with stabilised tracked-aerial platforms.

The goal was to create a single product that combined the key features of self-propelled, wheeled-aerial platforms, with stabilised tracked aerial platforms. Through extensive research and development, AlmaCrawler managed to develop the Billennium range which offers a morphologically unique product with a simpler user experience, and superior market adaptability. The end result caters to both the professional end-user, and the rental sector.

The B1570 and B1890 with a working height of 15m & 18m respectively, also have two different types of automatic stabilisation, Fixed (Visual) or Variable (Quick-PRO). There are also three power options available including, petrol engine (ETS version), diesel engine (EVO version) and full electric lithium (LTH version).

All versions showcase typical tracked platform size compactness (minimum width 0.78m) and a competitive maximum weight (2600kg, 2900 kg) to ensure transportability on traditional trailers.

With an operating outreach of 8.6m and 9.8m respectively, and a maximum load capacity in the basket of 230kg and 250kg, the Billennium Spiderbooms will also feature a series of new technological features:

  • SPS (Self-Propelled Skilled System) – This new patent-pending system allows the use of the machine even without lowering the stabilisers, on slopes up to 10° longitudinally and up to 5° laterally. The platform can safely and directly be used up to 9m working heights, thanks to the advanced control and leveling systems of the machine.
  • AWP (Adaptive Working Performance) – This new patent-pending system allows for the optimisation of the operational outreach. It calculates the stabilisation area in real time by measuring the angle of deployment of each individual stabiliser, the performance being determined by checking the actual stabilisation area in real time.
  • Automatic Stabilisation – All Billennium models are equipped with the automatic stabilisation system as standard. Two choices include:
  • A) Visual – Automatic stabilisation with a fixed area.
  • B) Quick-PRO – Automatic Stabilisation with variable areas, it offers six different machine positioning configurations. Simple to choose through the onboard selector, it automatically interacts with the AWP system and gives the operator the best possible outreach performance.
  • Undercarriage XXL – AlmaCrawler design which allows for an easier and safer daily loading / unloading as well as the selfpropelled capabilities of the Spiderbooms. This without sacrificing the typical size compactness (variable track 0.79 ÷ 1.39 m but with a longer track length – 2 m).
  • ATS (Automatic Tensioner System) – Uniquely designed “ZERO MAINTENANCE” hydraulic system for the automatic tensioning of the track.
  • Tasket Basket – The only resizable basket on the market, no disassembly needed, can go through narrow passages, and it extends from the minimum width of the aerial platform 0.79m to a comfortable-for-two 1.2m.

The Billennium Spiderboom was designed to complement AlmaCrawler’s already popular range of innovative tracked aerial platforms, including the Athena HE and Athena BL scissor lifts, the JIBBI telescopic boom lift, and the Multi Loader tracked carriers. Available with our intelligent, integrated anti-collision detection technology.

Through its all-terrain versatility for working safely at height, the Billennium Line is highly suited for construction and industrial applications, the arbor sector as well as building and park maintenance.

The Billennium range is available directly through Almac Pacific or our Australian exclusive national dealer, United Forklift and Access Solutions.

Collision Detection – Technology Capabilities for a Higher ROI

Friday, 08 October 2021 by australia-admin

We won’t compromise on safety, reliability or performance which is why we offer intelligent, integrated anti-collision sensors on our Jibbi, Athena and Billennium ranges, safeguarding you, and your equipment.

During machine operation, our advanced anti-collision sensors create an obstacle-detection zone above the operator, monitoring for any overhead obstructions that may result in unneccessary injury, or equipment/structural damage. The main sensors are installed on the top rail of the platform and are always active during operation. If a proximity breach is detected, the sensor triggers an audio and visual alarm, while locking all functions of the machine. The operator must then release the control and assess the surroundings.

Lowering functions will remain active. Should the operator decide to continue with elevation, a 3-second delay before re-engagement will occur.
